Care and outdoor suitability depend on the individual piece. A painted, lacquered or stainless steel component does not mean that every part of an item is weatherproof.

Can I use the metal candle holders outside?

Our metal candle holders are normally for indoor use, or outside on a dry day.

What if I want to leave my candle holders outside in the weather?

We suggest spraying them with a couple of coats of lacquer. If you prefer to paint them, use an oil-based paint and apply a couple of coats. This advice is for the metal candle holders, not a weatherproof guarantee for every piece in The Metal Collection.

Can kocreations lacquer or paint my candle holders for me?

Yes. kocreations can carry out this work for an additional £5 per item. Please let us know whether you would like lacquering or painting and, if painting, your chosen paint colour when arranging this service.

What materials and finishes are confirmed for the other pieces?

• The Wire Dragonfly: Repurposed stainless steel wire held together with copper micro electrical wire.
• Metal Flowers: Repurposed mild steel. Available painted or plain, lacquered or unlacquered; please indicate your preference at checkout as requested in the product listing.
• Dragonfly on a reed: Repurposed metal, with the dragonfly heated to produce a blue colour.
• Candle holders: Repurposed steel. Please see the indoor and outdoor-use guidance above.
• Metal Retro flower vase: Repurposed metal; the product listing confirms use with wet or dry flowers.
• Repurposed metal star: Repurposed metal with a crystal centre and stainless steel micro rope with a hanging loop. The rope material does not establish the material or weather resistance of the star itself.
• Metal Swallow: Repurposed metal on a steel rod. Outdoor suitability and a protective finish have not yet been confirmed.
• Retro flower vase: Repurposed cylinder with a metallic blue painted finish and formed steel legs finished with clear metallic lacquer. The listing confirms use with wet or dried flowers.
• Retro Candle Holder: Metallic purple painted steel cylinder with a metallic grey painted arrowhead base.
• Retro Metal flower vase: Repurposed metal; the product listing confirms use with wet or dry flowers.

Will my piece rust or change colour outside?

Expected weathering has not yet been confirmed for each item. We do not describe the collection as universally rustproof or weatherproof. Please ask kocreations about the specific piece and finish before leaving it outdoors.

How should I clean and maintain my piece?

Product-specific cleaning methods and maintenance schedules have not yet been confirmed. Please ask kocreations for advice for your particular item and finish before using cleaning products or applying a treatment.
